Every ICB has a constitution which sets out the membership of the Board. The NHS NW London constitution that was agreed when the ICB was established on 1 July 2022 identified one Local Authority Partner Member and are engaging on an increase to that.
Within NW London, we have reached agreement that we would like to increase this to three Local Authority Partner Members who could be Local Authority officials or elected councillors or leaders. See the details in the attached letter from Penny Dash, Chair NHS NW London.
The proposed change would enable a stronger local government presence on the ICB Board and should enhance closer working between the NHS and local authorities, alongside the extensive partnership working that is already underway across the ICS.
