Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT)

The Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) reviews focus on driving equity of access and positive clinical outcomes for the population through standardisation of pathways and adoption of best practice.

All PCNs in North West London are invited to hold a children and young people’s asthma GIRFT review; to explore good practice and create improvements.

Each review is underpinned by population health data (WSIC) and aligns with the National Bundle of Care for children and young people with asthma. And is carried out by GIRFT clinicians from the NWeLondon CYP Asthma Network:

  • Dr Stephen Goldring, Consultant Paediatrician and Network Lead
  • Dr Ketana Halai, NWL ICS Children and Young People asthma GP Lead
  • Mr Darush Attar-Zaden, Lead pharmacist
  • Sister Sammy Ndlovu-Davika, Paediatric Respiratory Nurse Specialist

Ongoing support will also be provided by the GIRFT clinical and implementation teams.

To book a review or for further information please contact the GIRFT central inbox england.girft.central@nhs.net or alternatively the Childhood Asthma workstream delivery manager; Rebecca Dooley  at Rebecca.dooley2@nhs.net
