As part of our ongoing programme to improve access to general practice, a series of events were held over recent months so that patients could have their say and share their experiences. This initiative, led by local PCNs (Primary Care Networks) and supported by NHS North West London, is part of a broader engagement strategy aimed at improving GP services and patient experiences.
We are today publishing the response rates to the surveys and an overview of north west London-wide public events, both face-to-face and online, that were held across the PCNs. The list includes some dates for additional events held after the initial engagement period in response to feedback from patients and NHS North West London.
In total, we had over 100,000 responses to the patient survey. The initial findings were shared with the public at two events held on 6 February 2025 and are available on this site. The slides provide some detail on the background to this programme, give information on the wider work NHS North West London is doing to improve access, look at the demographics of those who responded to the survey and give a flavour of what residents told us was going well and where there is room for improvement in general practice access across NW London.
This patient engagement work sits within a wider context of initiatives designed to transform and modernise general practice, including a contract specification that is in development on Modern General Practice and which will come into effect from April 2025. Collectively, these efforts aim to enhance healthcare accessibility, effectiveness, and responsiveness to community needs.
