NHS North West London holds its Residents’ Forum

21 March 2024

On Wednesday 20 March we held our third North West London Residents’ Forum.

We covered feedback on two important areas, dental services and improving access to general practice.

Thanks to the 127 residents who attended. The forum further highlighted how much residents are invested in the development of healthcare services in their respective boroughs.

You can watch a recording of the forum, or see the attached slide decks (improving access to general practice)  (dental).

There is also a short summary below.

Dental services presentation:

The presentation on dental services delved into current challenges facing residents, including access to emergency dental care, preventing tooth decay and concerns over childhood tooth extractions, which indicate broader issues around promoting oral health. The discussion also touched on the potential benefits for children and young people’s oral health of water fluoridation and innovative community services.

Feedback

Participants provided extensive feedback, expressing concerns over the accessibility of 24/7 emergency dental services and seeking clarification on preventive measures like fluoride varnish

Improving access to general practice presentation:

In response to consistent feedback from patients that they struggle to get an appointment with their GP, NHS North West London is looking to improve access to general practice.

The presentation covered what the organisation is looking to achieve for residents, and our commitment to timely access to high quality care.

Feedback
