Last chance to have your say: consultation closing midnight Monday 24 February 2025

Compassionate care for all: Help shape the future of adult community specialist palliative care in north west London!

Residents across north west London are being urged to share their views before the public consultation on the future of adult community specialist palliative care closes on Monday 24 February 2025.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has taken the time to provide feedback during the consultation and when we started to look at this important service area in December 2021.  Your insights have been invaluable in shaping the future of local healthcare services.

Throughout this consultation, we have been fully committed to ensuring an inclusive and accessible process. We recognise the importance of hearing from all communities, including those from protected characteristic groups, deprived areas, and digitally excluded populations. To achieve this, we have:

  • Held over 90 involvement sessions across all boroughs in north west London.
  • Organised three north west London-wide consultation events.
  • Ensured every borough has hosted at least one local event.
  • Attended numerous meetings with a diverse range of groups to ensure broad engagement.

Dr Lyndsey Williams, clinical Lead for the adult community specialist palliative care review programme in north west London said:

“This consultation has been an important opportunity to listen to residents and work together to shape the future of healthcare services in north west London. We are grateful for the engagement and thoughtful contributions from the community, which have been instrumental in refining the proposed model of care. We encourage everyone to take this final opportunity to share their views before the consultation closes.”

The proposed model of care has been shaped by extensive engagement and co-design with residents and stakeholders since December 2021. This has included multiple phases of consultation, working groups, and a thorough Equalities Health Impact Assessment (EHIA) to ensure the needs of all communities are considered.

With just a few days remaining until the consultation closes, we encourage all residents to take this final opportunity to have their say. More information on the proposals, as well as ways to submit feedback, can be found on our website at www.nwlondonicb.nhs.uk/cspc.
