Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)

Measles is still circulating.

Measles is an infection that spreads very easily and can cause serious problems in some people. Having the MMR vaccine is the best way to prevent it. Further information on measles, including symptoms and potential complications, can be found here - Measles - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

The MMR vaccine can prevent measles. Two doses of the MMR vaccine is routinely offered (the first at 1 year old and the second at 3 years and 4 months old) to all children in the UK and can give lifelong protection against measles, mumps, and rubella. We are calling on all parents and guardians to make sure their children are up to date with two doses of the MMR vaccine. To check or are unsure if your children are up to date, consult their Personal Child Health Record (PCHR), known as the red book, or contact their GP practice. If you or your children have missed either dose you should catch-up as soon as possible to make sure you are protected.

MMR vaccination appointments can be booked through your GP Practice (all ages).
