Our A&E departments are currently very busy, and we are asking practices to support a strong, consistent flu prevention message across local channels.
An Instagram post is available to share, with suggested wording below for use on other practice platforms.
Flu cases are rising.
If you have symptoms of flu — coughing, sneezing or fever — help stop the spread.
- Stay home if you can and wear a mask around other people
- Look after yourself: rest, keep warm, take paracetamol or ibuprofen for fever and aches, and drink plenty of fluids
- If you need medical help or advice, use NHS 111 online or by phone
- Please do not travel to hospitals or emergency services unless it is an emergency

If you are eligible for a flu vaccination — including those aged over 65, children aged 2–3 and school‑aged children, people with long‑term health conditions and those who are pregnant — please encourage patients to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
