Partner Training Providers

At Buckinghamshire New University, from your very first welcome, you’ll find yourself surrounded by friendly, like-minded students and staff – all passionate about nursing and healthcare.
We've been running nursing programmes for many years and students benefit from an excellent standard of teaching provided by staff from the University. Our lecturers maintain close links with practice, ensuring that the programme is always kept up to date.

You will receive personal tutoring and also be able to take part in our annual one-day inter-professional conference, focused on safeguarding. In addition, guest speakers regularly deliver sessions for students within the University to ensure we give a diverse range of views and experiences to our students.

At BNU, we recognise roles in this field are hands-on – that’s why you’ll take part in simulated learning experiences throughout the course using our specialised facilities. This will enable you to recreate authentic scenarios and practise your skills in a safe environment.

Senior Healthcare Support Worker

Spark! is a charity serving the young people, schools and employers of the 7 west London boroughs. We believe every young person can and should be supported to be ready, equipped and able to enter the world of work. We especially support those who will benefit the most from our services, because they experience barriers to their ideal career or to employment in general.

Since 1980 we have helped tens of thousands of young people make the transition into employment and rewarding careers; supporting them to develop the skills they need and providing meaningful engagement with the working world. We work with schools and businesses to match local employers and employees with diverse students, providing access to high-quality employability programmes, inspiring careers mentoring, and quality assured work experience placements.

We offer tailored support to ensure young people receive the best possible careers education in their local area, not just directly to young people, but also to employers to ensure they are engaging effectively with the workforce of tomorrow as well as creating youth-friendly, inclusive opportunities and employment. We are part of the west London youth employment community and advocate for cross-sector collaboration and innovation.

Our programmes include:

  • In-school workshops and events, often as part of a series of engagements designed to support the same group of pupils. E.g. application workshops, networking, mock interviews etc.
  • Work experience and work placements. Work experience is one of the most impactful interventions for young people who have barriers to accessing the workplace and we can support employers to develop a work experience programme and/or recruit pupils to placements available.
  • Industry insight days: facilitating a group to visit your workplace for a day to explain the range of careers available, inspire them to apply later on, and develop workplace skills.
  • Careers mentoring: supporting a young person on Pupil Premium, and those identified as at risk of becoming ‘Not in Employment, Education or Training’. Mentees are matched with trained employee volunteers from our employer partners, and includes; developing employability skills, building confidence, CV writing and interview skills, setting career goals, and building vital social capital.
