Partners from the North West London Integrated Care System attended the North West London Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Wednesday 12 October 2022 to brief Councilors on the current position of the programme and answered questions. Points made include:
- Thanked all front line staff who worked in palliative care for helping people at such an emotive and difficult time.
- Reaffirmed concern about the continued suspension of Pembridge Palliative care inpatients unit in 2018, the need to be transparent about its future and also to come to a conclusion as rapidly as possible.
- Need to increase the number of people who have enhanced care plans and that all professionals know including primary care. Interested in how we get voluntary and community sector involved in having conversations with patients, families and carers.
