North West London residents share their views on NHS services

27 October 2022

NHS North West London has been asking local residents what is important to them as we look to use insights from what our residents and communities say to develop our future strategies.

The September 2022 report

The September report, demonstrates that access to GP appointments, including the ability to see GPs face-to-face, is a concern of many residents.

Residents have given feedback about barriers to LGBTQ+ access to healthcare, mental health support for young people and cultural barriers to cancer screening.

The increased cost of living was a constant theme, with feedback suggesting residents are concerned it impacts upon their ability to manage their health.

This feedback will now be shared with our Integrated Care Board, local borough teams and programmes that span North West London, so that it is addressed and helps inform future plans. These reports will be produced monthly and the aim is to include feedback from our partners and other sources in future reports, giving a real sense of what our communities are saying.

There will also be an ‘omnibus’ survey via our 3,800-strong Citizens’ Panel, which will monitor residents’ experiences every six months, so that we can see where improvements are being made.

Rory Hegarty, Director of Communications and Engagement, said: “We would like to thank all the people who gave-up their time to give us their feedback on NHS services and what is important to them.

“The insight reports reflect our emerging NHS NW London (ICB) involvement strategy, including our commitment to community outreach. The strategic approach and targeting is agreed at borough level, in-line with the NW London involvement strategy. North West London wide themes, such as end of life care and the consultation on an elective orthopaedic centre, are included.”
