Primary care teams play a key role in supporting survivors of domestic abuse

A new primary care initiative in Ealing, led by GP, Dr Vasumathy Sivarajasingam, has helped support and improve the response provided to survivors of domestic abuse. 

The initiative has brought the issue of domestic abuse into everyday healthcare provision, to help improve identifying and supporting those affected. 

By adopting a collaborative and community-focused approach within general practice, the initiative has effectively; raised awareness, bolstered support for survivors and strengthened community engagement.
