Health services on Bank Holiday Monday, 19 September 2022

15 September 2022

Due to the funeral of Her Majesty The Queen, Monday has been declared a bank holiday.

Planned hospital appointments or surgery may be postponed unless they are time critical, depending on which hospital you are attending. Your hospital will let you know what is happening and will contact you if your appointment needs to be rescheduled.  You may also be able to find information on your hospital website.

GP practices will be closed as on other bank holidays, but the usual GP out of hours service will be provided – check your practice website for details.

If any appointments need to be rearranged, your GP will be in touch. Scheduled home visits are expected to continue.

Mental health crisis lines offer emotional support and advice to people who require urgent mental health attention, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are open to children and adults of all ages, to people who haven’t previously used mental health services and to carers and family members who might be concerned about someone.

You can call our mental health crisis lines free:

  • 0800 328 4444 in the boroughs of Hounslow, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Ealing
  • 0800 0234 650 in Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Harrow, Brent and Hillingdon

Patients should also be aware that travel congestion is expected in London. It would be wise to allow extra time for any journeys, including to health appointments.
