NHS North West London is continuing to move neighbourhood health forward, with integrator arrangements now confirmed across all eight boroughs.
This marks an important step in strengthening how local partners work together to deliver more joined-up, community-based health and care. Integrators will help bring NHS organisations, councils, primary care and the voluntary and community sector together to build shared understanding of local need and support care that is more proactive, connected and centred around people and neighbourhoods.
Working alongside existing borough partnerships, integrators will focus on improving collaboration, learning from what already works well locally, and helping create the conditions needed for neighbourhood health services to succeed.
The approved borough integrators are:
- Bi-borough (Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster): A partnership between Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH), Healthcare Central London GP Federation, London Medical Associates, One Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea Social Council (KCSC),Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster City Council, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL). CLCH will host the arrangement, with the GP federations and voluntary sector taking forward some of the enabling functions.
- Brent: A partnership between CNWL, London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWHUT), Brent council, CLCH, the voluntary sector and Brent primary care networks (PCNs). CNWL will host the arrangement.
- Ealing: A partnership between West London NHS Trust, the London Borough of Ealing, LNWHUT, Ealing & Hounslow community and voluntary sector and Ealing primary care. West London NHS Trust will host the arrangement.
- Hammersmith & Fulham: A partnership between CLCH, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, Hammersmith & Fulham PCNs, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, West London NHS Trust, Hammersmith & Fulham council and Sobus. CLCH will host the arrangement.
- Harrow: A partnership between the Harrow Borough Based Partnership, including CLCH, CNWL, LNWUHT, Harrow Council, GPs and the voluntary and community sector. CLCH will host the arrangement.
- Hillingdon: A partnership between the Hillingdon Health and Care Partnership, including CNWL, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Hillingdon council, The Hillingdon Confederation and voluntary and community partners. CNWL will host the arrangement.
- Hounslow: A partnership between West London NHS Trust, Hounslow council, the Hounslow GP Consortium and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. West London NHS Trust will host the arrangement.
Strong progress has already been recognised in Hillingdon and in the Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster bi-borough, which have been selected as sites for the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme, a flagship initiative from NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care to support delivery of neighbourhood working.
These arrangements do not replace existing partnerships. Instead, they provide additional leadership, coordination and support to help neighbourhood health services develop at pace and scale, improving outcomes and reducing inequalities for local communities across North West London.
Sarah McDonnell-Davies, North Central and North West London ICBs Chief Transformation Officer, said:
“Implementing Neighbourhood Health is our key priority locally. We are pleased to announce integrator arrangements for all our North West London partnerships (Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow). The Integrators will play a crucial role driving forward the delivery of Neighbourhood Health through an integrated, proactive and person-centred offer to those who need it most. As we look ahead to the New Year, the ICB will be working closely with partners to reform our offer, realise the opportunity for a sustainable ‘left shift’ and drive improved outcomes and experience.”Visit the website to learn more about the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme.
