‘Storm Eunice’ Met office red weather warning: Updates to NHS services in North West London

Amber weather warnings remain in place in London until 9.30pm. Please continue to take care. 

Update: 2.40pm 18/2/22 

Some structural damage occurred to the London Ambulance Station, located next to the Hillingdon Hospital site. As a precaution, the entrance to the hospital site on Royal Lane, next to the Busy Bees nursery (Entrance ‘C’) is closed until further notice.

There was some damage to the roof that supports Pagett Ward and the Emergency Gynaecological Assessment Unit (EGAU) at the Hospital. There was no damage to the interior of the ward and no injuries. The necessary works are being undertaken.

The functions of Pagett Ward are being transferred to Pinewood Ward at Hillingdon and this will be operational as soon as possible.

Weather warnings are in place in London and nationwide - including rare red warnings for wind. The Met Office fears "significant gusts" could lead to flying debris endangering lives.

NHS services updates

NHS services are currently running as normal in North West London, however any disruption or changes to services will be published on this page.

The red weather warning is in place to reflect the higher likelihood of impacts. This means there could be:

  • Flying debris resulting in danger to life
  • Damage to buildings and homes, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down
  • Roads, bridges and railway lines closed, with delays and cancellations to transport
  • Power cuts affecting other services, such as mobile phone coverage
