The Prime Minister has announced that there will be a General Election on 4 July 2024. We expect this Parliament to be ‘prorogued’ (discontinued) today and dissolved on 30 May 2024.
Because of the pre-election period (previously known as purdah) we have to follow certain rules, which limits the types of events we get involved with and the messages we communicate.
Although, these rules are not likely to come officially come into until 25 May, you will start seeing changes in our communications immediately, as we respect the sensitivities of this period and implement immediate changes as a matter of best practice.
Some public meetings and meetings held in public will be postponed, and we can announce that the NW London Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) will not take place on 18 June 2024.
Any public consultations or engagement on matters that might be politically contentious will be suspended until after the election.
We will share updated communications with residents and stakeholders as we receive further updates. Business will return as normal soon after the election.
