Dr Pearl Chin, of Westbourne Grove Medical Centre, sadly passed away earlier in the year.
At the time the NHS put in place temporary arrangements to make sure patient care continues.
NHS North West London has now reviewed all relevant information, including patients and stakeholder feedback, in order to make a decision about the practice and is writing to all patients to let them know that a formal decision has been made.
NHS North West London is asking patients to register with alternative local practices of their choice as Westbourne Grove Medical Centre will close on 30 April 2023.
We would like to reassure you patinets that this is a decision that was not taken lightly. We recognise that on top of a feeling of loss of Dr Chin, who was a much loved and respected GP, patients may also feel a sense of loss for the practice.
All patients of Westbourne Grove Medical Centre, are encouraged to register with another practice of your choice, ideally before 30 April 2023, in order to continue to receive medical care. Even if you do not need to see a doctor immediately we would recommend that you register with another practice as soon as possible so that you can access a GP as and when you need to.
Next steps and how to register with a new GP practice
A list of the GP practices closest to Westbourne Grove Medical Centre is available here. These practices are all accepting new patients from within their catchment area. We encourage you to contact the practice of your choice to register, if possible, before 30 April 2023.
You can register with a new GP practice simply by contacting the practice and asking them to register you. Alternatively you can visit the NHS website at www.nhs.uk to find a practice near you. Practices will ask that you complete a registration form, which is available on most practice websites or you can collect a registration form in person at a practice of your choice.
We are working with local Primary Care Networks, groups of GPs working together, to arrange special events where patients can meet practices and ask any questions before deciding where they would like to register. Once we have dates and venues confirmed we will advise patients by messages in the surgery, text message and on the website.
